FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WESTON DISTANCE LEARNING PRESIDENT ANN ROHR ELECTED TO THE ACCREDITING COMMISSION OF DISTANCE EDUCATION AND TRAINING COUNCIL

Fort Collins, Colorado - April 4, 2011 - The Distance Education and Training Council in Washington, DC voted President of Weston Distance Learning Ann Rohr as an Institution Executive Member on their nine-member Accrediting Commission. The Commission is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Election to service on the DETC Accrediting Commission is an honor for any DETC institution executive. Rohr's election as an Institution Member on the Commission is the Council members’ testimony to her professional career and their implicit confidence in her, as well as the educational institutions she represents.

Since 2003 Rohr has served as President of Fort Collins-based Weston Distance Learning, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. All of Weston’s postsecondary schools - U.S. Career Institute, McKinley College and At-Home Professions - are accredited by the DETC.

"We are delighted with the news of Ms. Rohr's election, and we relish the opportunity to work with her in continuing DETC's long tradition of conducting one of the nation's most respected and effective accrediting programs.” said DETC Commission Chair, Dr. Timothy Mott.

DETC Executive Director Michael P. Lambert stated that service on the Accrediting Commission requires, above all else, a total dedication to the concept that there is no substitute for integrity. It requires diligence, judgment and lots of homework. He added, “Ms. Rohr will be a great addition to the DETC decision-making body, and we are delighted with her election.”

Rohr's term will run from April 4, 2011 through March 31, 2014. She will be eligible for a second and final 3 year term in 2014.
